Could be allergic reaction, I don't know if baby acene can go to chest and back. Our oldest can't wear fleece or else she gets hives.

My son had that and it was an allergy to the baby soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent I was using. I switched him to the scentless dove soap, and baby dreft, and it cleared up.

There are several different rashes babies can get that aren't caused by anything in particular. If the one you are describing is what I think it is, my son had it. It was on his chest, back, cheeks & shoulders. I took him to his pedi & it had a very very long name. So they called it "flea bite rash". It's not actual flea bites, but looks like clusters of bites. I will try to find the actual name on google.

ETA: Erythema toxicum - Erythema toxicum is a red rash on newborns that is often described as "flea bites." The rash is common on the chest and back, but may be found all over. About half of all babies develop this condition in the first few days of life. It is less common in premature babies. The cause is unknown but it is not dangerous. Erythema toxicum does not require any treatment and disappears by itself in a few days.

took baby teddy to docs and he has thrush, and although he has some baby acne the rash on his face is either from the thrush, or dermatologic issue, he is now on meds for his thrush, and hydrocortizone cream for his cheeks:/
