If I make a fitted CD with a hidden PUL layer what is that considered?
I love the idea of a fitted with cute fabrics and prints but buying covers and OR making them just to cover up the cuteness...just doesn't seem worth it

I just call them a hybrid I mix and match CD patterns all the time trying to find the perfect combo.

Well if it was like a cover with a snap in soaker that's an AI2 and if it's got a pocket to stuff te soaker in that's a pocket.

Then it's just an ai2/pocket with a hidden PUL?

If I'm picturing what you're saying correctly. Like you're making a cover and then you use a soaker with it?

I actually don't know since I haven't done it yet lol. I just know there is a hidden layer of PUL between the outer and inner

Lmao you're too cute
The AI2s I have are a cotton fabric or fleece on the outside and fleece on the inside. Then a snap in soaker.

Lol I am just trying to figure out what I am to do. I have been debating making pockets, ai2s, fitted.... Hybrids I dunno the works. I just want the options of cute outer fabrics with the waterproofing of PUL. I was told wool is wonderful but it makes me weary... I need to get a fitted and just try it

Why are you weary of wool? It's usually expensive unless u can find an old real wool sweater to repurpose. And if u use wool you typically don't need pul. So that's a bonus. Less unnatural materials on your baby.
You can get fabric thats already backed with pul I think n then just sew it together with some fleece. As long as you don't put microfiber against baby's skin you should be good.

Wool being so expensive worries me and what I would hate to do it make a really cute diaper only to cover it up because of the need for a cover. So if I hide the PUL within the diaper then I can put the outer layer as a cotton with PUL around the legs to prevent wicking. The inner layers I plan to use the velour *sp* and bamboo

Yeah I'd only use wool of I was making longies or shorties personally. Or If I was a really good knitter/crocheter.
The way u plan to make them is good as long as the pul is all hidden and doesn't touch baby's skin.
For the fitteds idk why people do that. I see cute ones all the time, why cover them?! It makes no sense. I had a lady make me Converted prefolds. Maybe this is skmething u could do. She made a prefold into a fitted so that it's nothing cute to put a cute cover over, but it's easier to use than a prefold.
