Why does he keep doing this?

posted 30th Dec
DS throws his food off his tray. Every time we give him anything.   It drives me crazy! And then if the dog gets it, he gets mad because she took his food.

I can't be the only person dealing with this...right?

DS will be 2 in March and he will sit and eat his food but the moment he is done he throws the rest in the floor. He also throws his toys when he gets done playing with them...I am assuming it's just a normal toddler thing. Maybe their way of pushing boundaries or something?

My DS will be 2 in March, too.   What day?

I hope it's just a phase. It's been going on for a little while now, and once he starts doing it, I'll take his food away, then he throws a HUGE fit. And if our dog gets to it, he'll yell at her for like...5 minutes, poor girl. It's like...if you wanted it, why did you throw it at her face?!

It just sucks, because all that food just goes to waste!

Mine is only 10.5 months old and its not food, but when she is in her chair with her formula has soon as she is done she tosses it on the floor. I always look at her and say "are you done?" she laughs and smiles at me. lol

If it were in a bottle, I could deal with it, because I can put that up and save it for later, but when it's like...spaghetti or mac and cheese and he tosses it on the floor, it's like...well, that's gone to waste.

Well. Not totally to waste, our dog gets a nice treat.

Is it just the food or the whole plate/bowl? I use those suction plates and bowls, and they stick pretty good, I have a hard time taking them off the table ot the tray when she is done her meal. lol

Just the food. The plate is right where I sat it, he just gets a kick out of throwing the food everywhere.

DD just turned 17 months on the 24th, she's been doing that for a while. She does it with her cups and toys too.

He doesn't really do it with toys, unless they frustrate him. Like, if he can't get it to do what he wants it to do, he'll throw it.
