Quoting Emily Dickinson:" I will puree alot of veggies and use it in my spaghetti sauce, alfredo sauce, etc. She never knows!"
it's the best trick... although now that my sister is still picky but off at college I doubt she's getting the veggies she needs unless she's home for break :/

College kids never have the best diet. Pretty sure most of them rely on Ramen to survive.

Quoting Emily Dickinson:" I had a great few years after my daughter was born - lost 75lbs and stayed very healthy. Last year, ... [snip!] ... figure it out. I wasn't eating bad it was just clinging to me. I lost 10lbs over the summer and then I ended up pregnant."
I am really hoping to get the weight off. I gained back all but 10 lbs of what I had lost so I'm back up to needing to lose about 95 lbs.

Why you are getting healthy: It feels much better to be healthy than it does not to be! I want to keep up with my kids more easily, and also stay fit in case we have another child and I have to bounce back from another pregnancy.
What are your biggest health obstacles: Junk food. I love it, and it seems to love me
I'm not doing anything extreme this year, I've discovered that my son will let me do a walking workout, around 3-5 miles a day. So, that is that! My goal is to really just be steadfast with doing it.

Why you are getting healthy: With 4 kids I want them to be healthier and make healthier choices than I did. I struggled a lot with my weight, and still do. I dont want any of my kids, especially my daughter, to struggle like I did.
What are your biggest health obstacles: Motivation and energy.

Why are you getting healthy: I have high cholesterol, and ive been given a few months to control it before i have to go on meds, and im sick of being out of breath just walking up the stairs. I also hate the muffin top ive acquired recently. I just want to feel good.
What are you biggest health obstacles: I am an extremist.I struggle with everything food it seems.. I either dont eat enough or i sort of binge, and when i binge, i gain 20 lbs within a few months, and when i dont eat enough i drop it in a few months, then im back to binging.. etc. I either emotionally control myself, or emotionally eat. I need to find a middle ground, and be comfortable doing it.

Why you are getting healthy: For my future. I am extremely unhealthy, and considering my mother died at 38 from a heart attack. I NEED to do this for my kids. Plus, I think it would help with my anxiety, depression, and self esteem.
What are your biggest health obstacles: Food addiction :/ Not just someone who likes food. A full blown addiction...

Why you are getting healthy: I do a 'get healthy' resolution every year... I always feel awesome the first part of the year until I go back to the junk and stop being as active or whatever. 2012 I got pregnant in April and damn did I let myself go!
What are your biggest health obstacles: I was diagnosed with an eating disorder as a teenager: Compulsive Overeating (also known as food addiction). It sucks but I've lost over 150 pounds over the years and have more control now! But yeah, it makes it harder.

I'm in! I've already gotten a jump start on my weight loss but I want to continue!
Name: Amanda
Age: 32
Why are you getting healthy?: I want to feel better. I want to be a more active mama. I don't want to be 50 years old, overweight and unhealthy. And obviously, I want to LOOK better!
What are your biggest health obstacles: Exercise. I hate doing it and also, I have this stupid arthritis that can sometimes interfere with strenuous physical activity. Another obstacle I have is my love of junk food, specifically sweets. I have found that if I just don't eat it, I'm ok and I don't crave it too badly. However, once I start eating it, I want more and the more I eat, the more I want. I don't know if anyone else has figured this out about themselves, but if you have a sweet addiction like me, try cutting out sweets for a week and see if your cravings subside!

I'm the same. If we keep them out of the house I'm good, but once I start, it is awful.

yep!
and the other thing that hinders me is the weekend! Going to work through the week gives me structure and a predictable routine, but when I'm home on the weekends I have alot more idle time and I tend to eat out of boredom or just from being out of my routine. I'm not a very disciplined person at all

I'm better at home than I am when DH is home. He starts to crave ice cream, or cookies, or fast food...and I just give in. It is bad!

Why you are getting healthy: to be happier, thinner, and healthier for myself and my family.
What are your biggest health obstacles: quitting smoking cigarettes and going back completely vegetarian.
I have lost 30 pounds so far, but I still have about 20-30 to go. I am 5'6 with a wide frame. My doctor wants me between 150-160.
