BTW, the scale is not always your best friend anyway! If your clothes are fitting better, you are toning up and thats a great thing!

Yeah, my husband's a "man-boy" so he's very picky and everything has to be his way and all that fun stuff, so I have been making one thing for my son and then I make something bad for my husband. I forgot to mention that my other obstacle is that I'm starting to get my baking going again (I'm looking to open a shop) and I've been testing recipes out, so I've always got an abundance of cake, cookies, and candies around...Thank God I was able to gift a bunch of it for Christmas

Why you are getting healthy: For my son and myself ... plus it'll be nice when I can fit into my old jeans again  
What are your biggest health obstacles: portion control and "fatty" choices.. I'm not a huge fast food fan but I love cheese on everything so that adds a lot... I was not at my healthiest weight before I got pregnant and now I'm trying to get to my ideal weight (I'm already below my pre-pregnancy weight YAY BREASTFEEDING!) but trying to do so in a healthy way so my son is getting all the nutrition he needs

Christmas is such a hard time for me! Everyone loves to bake and make all kinds of goodies! Eeeek. Just remember that moderation is key!

Hi Martha!

I LOVE CHEESE. Its a huge weakness. In fact, I want to have a fondue party so bad it hurts.   Moderation is key in everything, though. There is no way to cut it out for me. haha

Why you are getting healthy: Because why not? My kids eat a totally healthy organic diet, but I still keep crap garbage in the house. I love just sitting around nomming on doritos, it's awful and then I hate myself. I'm over weight, though I've been losing weight steadily since october just by dropping sugar from diet. I want to look in the mirror and love myself again. PLUS I miss having adventurous sex with DH, would be nice to do crazy positions without getting a stitch in my side.. lol!
What are your biggest health obstacles: I'm my own worst enemy! I get lazy or bored, and I don't want to go on. I'm only hurting myself here-- and having people behind me holding me accountable.. I need that support in a big way. DH is great, but he is very quick to be like "hey want tacobell?!" as soon as the kids go to bed.

That is awesome about your kids having a great diet - that is half the battle right there. I know my daughter eats far healthier than I do at times! You will definitely be a great support in here to help us think of healthier food for our kiddos - especially organic (which I am trying to do more of but its a struggle!)

I hope so! My husband is a SAHD and he does all the cooking for our family so I eat whatever he cooks. He wants to lose weight but he too doesn't like a lot of healthy food choices. But he has tried to make stuff he does like with low fat/low cal ingredients to try and make it healthier.

I started the C25K program in the late fall but then it got to cold for me to go outside and run so I haven't been able to do it since. I plan to start back with it as soon as the weather warms back up though  

Right now I stick with my elliptical and I plan to start turbo Fire back up tomorrow. Hopefully I will finish the whole program through this time

Same! no chance of me cutting it out.. in fact I have some on my chili right now...lol I did make it a healthier chili with ground turkey and extra veggies but gotta have my cheese   lol

Fondue parties are the best!!!! my mom just had one on friday but I couldn't go cuz we left her place on wednesday   (she lives in norcal, we're in socal about 7 hrs away) totally wanted fondue all friday.. and frankly all the time lol

My husband cooks a lot as well when he is home. Thankfully, I make sure he cooks somewhat healthy now.  

My only exercise comes at work. I'm a teacher so I am on my feet all day, every day. By the time I get off work, I'm so exhausted that I can't even function.

Awww boooo  

We have a fondue pot and we planned to do it tomorrow but Addy (my daughter) wants to make homemade pizza instead. We bought everything to do it and I'm hoping to sneak some veggies on there lol

best trick for hiding veggies on pizza stick them in with the sauce under the cheese works like a charm

Why you are getting healthy: I feel like I'm losing myself and want to find me.
What are your biggest health obstacles: I have almost no cartalige in my knees from a previous injury which make any exercise but walking very difficult.

I am going to start with changing how I eat. I am going to eat mostly plant based foods and try to drastically reduce my intake of animal products and proccessed foods. I also am going to work on my water in take. Once I get enough weiht on my knees I want to start doing martial arts.

I get my exercise as well at work. I work at a car plant building cars so its physical work and all. I still manage to come home and get a workout in but I have to do it as soon as I walk in the door. I can't sit down or do anything else otherwise I end up getting lazy and talk myself out of it
