cervical checks

Does anyone else have bad cramps and a sore cervix after a check?
I hurt like a mother smurfer after getting checked today.

Yep, with my son I did. I also spotted after my second to last visit before labor.

I get my first cervix check on the 8th. I hope it doesnt hurt. What all does the ob do? Is it like a pap smear only a little more involved? Im nervous...

Cervix checks suck!! The dr will stick their *fingers, 1-2* ::eye roll:: inside you as far as they can (hopefully they have long fingers) and it's just an uncomfortable as a pap smear or IMO worse. Cramps to follow each time w my first as well.

I don't hurt after but during it hurts. this week I will be getting my third check and Last week I had my OB do it and he is a male dr and it hurt that I had to take deep breaths to deal with it instead of crying and the week before that I had the Dr. assistance do it and it was a women, she didn't hurt me that bad but still hurt. Though afterwards I didn't hurt on any of my check ups

I cramp a little. My cervix must be made of steel because it has never hurt me that bad, during or after.

They do not put their their while hand up into your vag! Lol they put like 2 fingers inside.to feel your cervix. In my experience its.not uncomfortable. I've never had any pain from it

Oh good. I took childbirth classes but they didnt cover that part at all. I assumed it was pretty much the same as a pap smear which is tolerable. And i worry a bit cuz my dh has said that i feel much tighter when we have sex so im hoping thats not a bad thing when it comes to the birth.

You feel tighter because you are swollen from extra blood flow. That's normal. Just wait till you see how swollen you are after you push a baby through your vag. Lol but no. It being swollen won't make giving birth ant harder.
