7month old and feeding...???

Just wondering if you how often a 7month old should be eating baby foods??

My DS is 7mon and breast fed,. I started baby foods at 6months and in the beginning he would eat oatmeal in the mornings and a veggie around dinner. Since then he has slowly backed off and now he will go a few days not wanting anything to do with baby foods and just wants breast milk. I will give him finger foods that are soft while we eat dinner...like peas/steamed carrots/toast/ banana and he will eat as much as he can pick up considering its all still new.
Is this ok?! that he is hardly eating baby foods and favors milk always?

I know every baby is different, but i have friends with babies that are the same age or even a little younger that seem to be on 3 meals a day of foods?

Also what are some other fun easy finger foods you have tried?

No set amount really, but at 7 months my dd was eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, but ff.

My dd liked and still does, toast with unsalted butter or peanut butter. Puffs and yogurt melts, grated cheese or cubed cheese, pieces of banana and avocados in slices or in cubes, frozen fruits in the mesh holder thingy, pineapple is her fav, and peaches and kiwi.

stuff like that, soft carrots and green bean, my kid is weird and likes lemmon slices and red and green peppers, but like I said she is weird lol

They only need breastmilk or formula for the first year anyway so not eating the solid foods is not a big deal. Introducing solids foods is just a novelty more than anything to get them used to eating it. My oldest was in love with solid food and refused any pureed stuff by 7 months. He was nursing about 5-6 times a day at that point and sleeping all night. As for food I would feed him a little bit at every one of our meals just in pea size chunks that he could pick up and chew. Whether he ate any of it or not I left it up to him.

My baby is 5 months and I have been giving tastes of food but haven't really started yet. From what we have given him I think he will be like his brother and be all into solids once he starts.

I would think thats ok BM or formula is thier main source of nutrition right now!! THe new foods is ust to get them started and keep trying and it will increase eventually but I wouldn't worry yet! ANd keep doing what your doing the soft foods while you eat is good practice for the little fingers.

So Should i push him to eat a little more?? He is a big boy! 22pounds, he is in 90% for height and weight...already wearing 18mon stuff! He has no weight issue, but the past week he is just not interested in foods :/ he turns his head away at the sight of the spoon.

I wouldnt push it at all if not interested.

Just keep putting finger foods on his tray at all the meals you make, let him play with it and get those fingers going. If he eats it he eats it, if not oh well.

I suggest trying the mesh feeders with frozen fruits tho, my dd loved to suck away on it, and if he is teething it helps sooth swollen gums at the sametime.

hmm..I cant seem to put a number on how much my DS nurses because it seems like all the time! at least every 4 hours, I just let him nurse when ever he seems to ask (patting my chest or trying to suck on dads arm) and he has been getting up a lot at night, I also co-sleep (after terrible failed attempts at the crib). That's why I thought he might need to eat more?!

I say just have the table stuff available and he will eat if hes hungry and if not its no biggie right now. ANd I co slept for a long time to can't really remember when we stopped it was when he started moving all over and i could never get any sleep and it went much better than I thought but at the time I am sure it was horrible.
