Is he supportive of you going to school?
I still think you could do it and do it well.

Yes, as a couple he's always been supportive of me going to school and him being the one working. He is supporting me financially (paying my bills that I used to pay when I worked) so that I CAN go to school. I wouldn't expect him to continue so I need a source of income. And he would need to find somewhere to live. With those 2 figured out I think we'd be fine.

I'm not totally single, bd helps with child support and sometimes with watching her , but we don't live together and he HELPS as in like $100-$200 a month.

And I got the maximum loan amount possible, was like a total of 6k, but it's all gone   and I've been in school a year, and a year to go until I get my LPN,
(it's part time, 25 hrs a week)
But I still work full time as well, I used up the 6k with buying some things I needed around the house and for LO, fixing my car and living off a little bit when I lost my job for rent & bills. I'm sooooo tired a lot, but your body really adjusts. Something you think you could never do now, just wait a year of school, and you'll be able to do PLUS more lol. It also makes me cherish every moment with LO, and some might find that sad, but when I was home with her all the time it was more quanity rather than quality.. Now it's the opposite.

I found that as well! When I was working crazy hours and didn't see him much during the day, we would always do stuff. We'd go places on my days off, everything. Now, I'm like...go play. Not to mention I never get anything done for who knows what reason.

I'm like so anxious to tell SO that I want to end it and start my new life but I don't know how because he's a good man...most of the time.

Wow, that is super expensive! Mine is just over $10k/year (well $15k since I go full time year round, but still).

I'm going to a school for health professionals (technically medical school, but I'm obviously not going TO med school for a doctor). It's a school directly affiliated with one of the best hospitals in Philly, and I'll have a dual BS.

I am extremely fortunate to have a big chunk of my school paid for by the GI Bill, which also provides me with a small stipend. I have a couple scholarships--make sure you apply for AS MANY AS YOU CAN! I applied for a bunch through my university, and also through my city's community foundation. I take out loans for the rest and a little extra per semester just in case since I don't really have a cash savings to speak of, then if I don't need it I just pay it right back on my loans.

I also receive quite a bit of child support, which more than covers my son's daycare and other expenses. I live with my mom; she would be more than happy to have me and my son here for free, but I give her $500/month because I don't want to mooch. I could afford to live on my own but I admit I'm not in any rush to live alone with a 4y/o, lol--I enjoy the adult company and the help, and she loves having us.

I know you're nervous, but try not to think too much about it. You've picked a great field, just make sure there are job opportunities in your area (which I'm sure you already have). The loans are a bitch but it's a necessary evil to get yourself to where you want to be.
