You can cut without intention to kill yourself. I have had a few instances where I kind of "missed" cutting, but didn't do anything about it.

That's true. I just always cut when depressed, which was all the time.

Isn't it normally that self harmers don't want to commit suicide? That's what I've always been told.

Yeah. When I used to cut it wasn't to kill myself. I don't know what my random thoughts of killing myself for no reason are for though. I don't actually want to die, so they confuse me.
