I really dislike the ex in-laws

My daughter was with her dad from Christmas day until Friday. She celebrated with he and his family during this time. She and I went shopping with her gift cards today and she was telling me the awful things my former mother in law was saying about me. :-(
She told her that I must be mentally ill for getting the divorce.
I left because he was cheating.
My in laws knew the whole time that he was cheating on me. They didn't not support the divorce at all. My ex's father has always had a girlfriend on the side and apparently they think its ok.
I'm pissed.

Thats smurffy...I dont understand people who talk smurf about a child's parent in front of them.

I'd be putting my foot down! No way in hell someone is going to disgrace me in front of my children and get away with it!

They live about 4 hours from me and my daughter only typically sees them once or twice a year. They aren't really involved grandparents, more national holiday ones. I feel like if I say anything at all to them or my ex husband that it will make it worse.

Yeah I'd be all over BD about that smurf. I'd tell him if his mom can't anything nice, then she needs to not say anything at all. Or don't allow your daughter to go over there at all. Some states consider it abuse for bad mouthing the other parent in front of the child

id be beyond pissed. I never say anything bad about my ex infront of my kids cause that is their dad and its not right just like i hope he has the same respect for me and doesnt say anything bad about me in front of them. I am lucky though cause i get along with my exes mom very well and were very close

My daughter has never heard one negative thing about me from my ex husband or from me about him. I don't think that he has any idea that his mother has done this. My only concern is that if I say something to him, and he says something to his mother, she will continue to say worse things about me and tell my daughter not to say anything. :-/ That is what my biggest fear is that they will try to start my daughter having "secrets" from me. Which, up till now, there are none and I don't want that to change.
