In the hospital

I posted earlier that my dd was having problems taking anything by mouth. Won't drink or eat and is constipated ever since she had her tonsils removed.
Well her doctor direct admitted her at 2:30 and they still have not put her iv in and its 6:45, the whole reason she was admitted was for dehydration!! Am I being unreasonable? I mean 4 hours? Really?? They are not that busy, and she is the only patient our nurse has!!!

Maybe the dr is busy and hasn't ordered the iv yet?

The doctor came in as soon as we got here and told the nurse to start it, and already had all the papers done to admit her before we even got here...

Go find someone.

Time get on the nurse....find out what they delay is. That is quite ridiculous.

The dr that admitted her won't be the dr caring for her while she is there. The hospitalist will be writing the orders. If he came in and told her to start it she may still be waiting for written orders. Or maybe the nurse is just slacking off.

She hasn't came back in, and there is no one at the desk, I have only seen her one time and that's when we first got admitted and the doctor was in here also. The housekeeper has came in and brought tissues and the doctor has even came back by and asked why it had not been started, idk what's the hold up...

Click your call light.. ( i think thats what it is called).. and ask her why and when the IV will be started since she is dehydrated....

The dr that admitted her is the dr that's on call tonight.

There is no one at the desk, already tried that like 20 minutes ago, the doctor may make rounds again tonight and I will talk to him, I'm irritated! This hospital sucks!!

Yeah. I'm aggrivated as hell, and the damn phone at the desk has rang for 2 hours straight! I'm about to go answer the damn thing myself!!

Is your LO sleep or is she being fussy? Maybe open the room door all the way..and stare their asses down if and when the walk by.

Oh I took the direct admit like she was being admitted from a pediatrician office or something.

Has anyone been in yet to see her? I'd be finding someone!
