I would get a crib

uh, a crib. Much safer for frequent use and more comfortable for them.

I used both. My son slept in a pack and play in my room until he was a year old. He was in his crib and still is at almost 4 years old. If you are worried that your child won't get a lot of use out of the crib get a convertible crib and transition it all the way to their "big" kid bed.

Get a crib. Most convert to toddler beds too and a pack n play doesn't.

Personally - I bought a crib and NEVER used it until my daughter was a toddler (converted to toddler bed), and then three months after that upgraded her to a twin bed.
I got a co-sleeper, and I use it but he'll be grown out of that soon too.

If you can afford it, get both. Pack N Plays are really nice if you go out of town for a couple of days. I always had both with all my kids. I will probably have both with this one, too.

I used a pack n play for my LO.
I bought him a new mattress for it. A crib would have been a waste considering at night he slept with us and only used hte pack n play for naps

We've used both. Now his pack and play is baby jail since he's so mobile.

I would co sleep

we did pack n play until about 2 months and then moved into crib. Altho, both of them did more co-sleeping than crib. I probably will get the pack n play for nap time and co-sleep until we are ready to move into the crib. We're just going to re-use my daughter's since she will be sharing a room with her brother and they agree on bunk beds.

I have both also. Pack n Play is for naps and crib is for bedtime. He won't nap in his crib, and his room is upstairs, so we have his pack n play downstairs so I'm not running up and down a bunch during the day.

Both of mine have used the pack n play with bassinet. I put it right up against my bed so they're sleeping next to me. It also has a changing table and then when they get older, it's a play yard. So I think it's definitely worth the money. And then if you want to buy a crib down the road when they outgrow the pack n play, that's an option. It would give you some time to save.
