re: crib OR play pen

i would get both.. i use the pack & play for naps & the crib for bedtime... my 1st son he never liked the pack and play so he slept in his crib from day one.. im not a believer of co-sleeping as i seen some of the moms were..and this time around my son sleeps in his pack & play thats downstairs for naps..and his crib at night.. its whatever your preference is..

I bought a pack n play and my son uses it what I did is put blankets and stuff so it wont be as uncomfortable.. but he sleeps with me during half the night ..

I got a crib that converts into a toddler and then a full size bed. My son is 2 and he is or was using his toddler bed then we got pregnant so now in a few weeks we will be using his toddler bed and convert it into a crib again and my 2year old got his own toddler bed. So it can come handy if not its still worth it because it can convert from a crib to toddler to full size bed.

I was actually on walmart.com recently and discovered that you can buy mattresses for the pack n plays.

my daughter used neither. we co-sleep at nigth and now she naps on the couch. . my son uses a pack and play in the front room and a crib side cared to my bed at night, like a co-sleeper.

Yup! I think they're like $30. Thinking of ordering one for myself...DD has a crib but I much prefer her to sleep next to me  

I have a Pack n Play & a bassinet to use for the first few months. My husband's grandmother is buying the crib but she's waiting until after our baby girl gets here. Most babies usually transition from womb to a bassinet better because of the smaller space that they are used to. But I will stop using the bassinet at about 2 months old unless she starts rolling over sooner.
