OPK questions

I have been using OPKs to track my cycles and I am confused about the times to look at the results. The first set I got said discard after 10mins but the set I am using now says after 5mins. (Is five more minutes really going to change the results that much?) anyways I took one this morning at 7:41am and at 7:45am read the result (negative) but then at 7:49am it's now almost a positive. Which result do I need to read? We are avoiding getting pregnant this cycle since I miscarried.

You're not supposed to use FMU with an OPK. Take on test a day and when you notice them getting darker, test like two or three times a day to find your surge.

I would follow the guidelines for the set you have, so 5 minutes. But if your TNTC this cycle i would say regardless of the opk results, use a condom.

It wasn't fmu. I peed at 5 this morning and then waited two hours to do the test. I usually do them in the evening but the box said just wait up to two hours without drinking anything to do it.

We have been. I guess I am more looking for my O days so I know next cycle.

Lol normally that would be my fmu but I woke up at 5 and couldn't go back to bed (woohoo...not) OPKs are so weird for me to figure out. I use to track just by following my body's signs and such but since having DS I haven't hard but one PP period. I know I am Oing again though. i started tracking in Oct and got pregnant in Nov so I know something is waking up in there lol.
