18.5 weeks (update & u/s pics)

Pics of ze belly and ze baby at ze bottoms for you stalkers!

So I'm now down to 3.9 cm of cervix. Still in the normal range, but it has dropped from 5.5cm in the last 4-5 weeks. That's 1.6cm. At this rate, I won't be getting close to term   I start progesterone injections as soon as insurance/payment is figured out. Hopefully that slows this WAY down!

And I'm contracting too. 1-2 per day on average, but that's how it started with D too. And I've had a couple of stretches where I got a few in an HOUR, but they went away.

Please pray she stays put for a MINIMUM of 6 more weeks and preferably at lease 12! I'd love 18 more weeks, but I'm not holding my breath!

And when I had surgery last week, my son went on bed rest too so his baby jaguar would stay in his tummy and grow big and strong!

They didnt give you a cerclage knowing your past pregnancies?

That's still a really awesome cl ,especially for this time during the pregnancy. I know it's scary to drop that much, but you have to remember that 5.5 is almost freakishly long. No normal person without a cerclage could even stay close to that. Plus you're right in the middle of the 'danger' zone. I had less cervix than that with my first cerclage pregnancy and went full term and had to be induced at 40 weeks because my body wouldn't go into labor. I bet you'll do fine.   Good luck! keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh I pray she hangs out for another 18 weeks!!! Hopefully this was just a fluke and your cervix will stay as is.

I'm hoping we make it. It's the contractions on top of it that has me worried. Doc hasn't mentioned bed rest yet. Just light duty (no lifting), but even walking around for a couple hours shopping gives me lots of pressure :/ so I can barely do the grocery shopping now and make DH go with me so I can go sit in the car and let him finish if i need to (so far I haven't)

I would get on those motorized scooters to go grocery shopping.

There actually has been no studies saying bed rest actually works or not, but they put me on it anyway.

Are they giving you pills along with the shots to prevent labor? I don't remember what the name of the pills were...

No yet as my contractions are still so far apart (the pills have risks for baby so doc wants to wait and start them if/when they get closer).

For me, the contractions make my floppy cervix open...then the cervix has so much pressure it irritates my uterus and causes more contractions. We're hoping the cerclage and progesterone make the cycle stop or at least slow WAY DOWN!
