should I worry?

DS has been rolling from tummy to back for a few weeks now. He doesn't do it all the time but often enough. He's always hated tummy time and he started rolling when he got mad, but now he usually just cries and it gets to the point where its more than just fussing so I go get him. Could this be because he hasn't been feeling well? I mean he's still doing it just not as much. Do I need to worry?

How old is he?

He'll be 3.5 months this week.

Don't worry then. He can do it so that's what matters. Just keep encouraging tummy time. :-)

My baby is 3.5 months too and she is not fond of tummy time. She ends up rolling over or screams and gets all worked up.

Ok thanks. I mean he would only do it a few times a day anyways, but the past couple of days he'll only do it like twice. And of course being a first time mom I freak out about every little thing.

If she rolls over during tummy time then she's doing what she needs to be lol. Tummy time is to encourage rolling, independent decision making through play, and to build upper body strength. They have to have all three to roll over. ;-)

Yeah, DS is like that. He's way better with tummy tome now, and he'll flip or get too pissed to do anything lol. I try to let him be as long as possible to see I'd he'll flip but I can only let him go too long before he loses it.

Lol yea I'm not saying they shouldn't roll. I love seeing it. For the first time the other day she rolled from back to belly..but I missed it! I walked into the kitchen to get her a bottle and I left her on her back. When I walked back in she was on her belly! I couldn't believe it I even asked my 4 year old son if he rolled her over lol

Yea my baby too lol. If I put a few toys in front of her she will not freak out as quickly, she will look at the toys for a minute but then loses it

Haha yeah. I'll put him on his mat and turn it on with some toys and he's content, but that'll only last for so long.

My son is 4 months old today. He can roll from his back ti tummy but often gets stuck because he's got such chunky thighs. What I was trying to say is as long as you've seen them do it don't worry! And if they're developing other skills then don't stress if they don't roll. If they're not developing other skills (holding things in their hands, playing with their feet, babbling) then id speak to a doctor. Or if you notice that she starts to go backwards (starts being unable to do what she has been able to for awhile) then speak to your Pediatrician. My baby sits unsupported, scooches, tries to crawl, moves things from hand to hand, says sounds like ma, ba, da, smiles and laughs with us, tries to mock our sounds, and is beginning to want to self feed (we don't do solids but occasionally I fgive him a rice husk but that's our secret!) He's developing other skills well so I don't push him to roll over. See mt point? I sometimes don't say things properly lol!

my little boy hated tummy time for ages! only started getting into it properly around 6 months but if he got mad he wouldn't roll over he'd just kick his little legs, but it wasn't a problem, he developed fine at his own pace, and then he started enjoying tummy time and was crawling around like normal and is now nearly walking so he's not behind x
