Lactating again?

I had a horrible time breastfeeding. I had completely stopped by the time my now 5 month old son was 3 months. Today I've been having period like cramps and my boobs just felt...weird. It's hard to explain. It was like...I noticed them more? And not the whole breast. It was like an uncomfortable feeling from the nipple back. Not pain or anything but just uncomfortable that I noticed them I guess? Out of curiosity I squeezed and more liquid came out of my nipple than I could try and try and try to get out 3 months ago. Is this just a fluke? Has anyone randomly and successfully started lactating again months later?

Its normal , with my first pregnancy I didn't breast feed cause she wouldn't take my milk would come and go for sixth months , after it stopped a little over a year I was leaking again

Anyone can re-lactate or start lactating with enough time and effort. Men have breastfed before, as have women who've adopted their children.

I haven't been trying at all, so I was very surprised when it started! I guess I'll get the pump out and see if anything comes of it.

It takes a LOT of effort though, more than just pumping. Usually you'll have to start up a regimen of fenugreek and mother's milk tea.
