Lame.

posted 30th Dec
Today we found out that the hospitals and birthing centres where we live don't supply nappies, wipes, an outfit when they are born, pads, showering items, anything. So I am now having to repack the hospital bag into a suitcase so all that stuff can be packed too. And we are having to pack extra things just incase they dont supply them. But we are packing the breast pump so we can make sure we know how to use it and can get the best use out of it.
It looks like we are taking the kitchen sink but we are only staying for 3 nights.

That's crazy about everything but the outfit. I've never heard of a hospital having an outfit to come home in.

Yeah. Our hospital bag is huuuge. We packed 3 changes for NB and 0-3 and then 2 prem onesies just incase plus 3 sleepsuits for each age group and something warm to come home in, 2 blakets, beanies, booties, mittens. Caitlyns clothes (mine arent even packed yet), tioletries, 30pack of nappies, breast pads, maternity pads, breast pump, baby wash stuff, an air matress and pump for Emma since she allowed to sleep there the 3 nights but they dont provide a bed or bedding. Its like we are going on holiday.

It sucks eh. The hospital I was at supplied maternity pads and cloth nappies, but that was it. I didnt use the cloth nappies though because I dont like them.

We had it packed and went onto here to look at their list to see if there was anything we hadnt thought of and saw that they didnt need them so we omitted it so everything fitted in a backpack and we found out today everything we left out we need plus extras so it all has to go into a suitcase. We dont care that we have to take it. We are just annoyed at ourselves for not asking what they supply and now we have to re pack it all.

Yeah everyone has been like take some of their pads and nappies if you can get some. I dont think we could have though. Luckily I went sample hunting the other days so in the next couple of weeks we have samples coming of nappies, swimmers, nappy pants, drynites, pads, a pelvic floor workout dvd, etc. I even got some meusli and dog de-smeller lol.

Thats okay and perfectly understandable. Caitlyn is having hers at Matariki in Waikato or at Waikato Hospital if need be.

The whole post was brought on because we are heading up to Aux for New Years and although she is 4 weeks from her due date we are taking everything just incase because you know if you dont you will go into labour.
