Your 4 year old doesn't need an iPad, dude. I get the message behind this post, but really, the kid doesn't need to get every single thing he asks for. And by you feeding into him throwing a fit over his dad not getting it for him, you're going to create an entitled monster who doesn't appreciate smurf.

He is an ass for lying to you about it. Now it just sucks that your DS's hopes are up about getting one. Could you do something like Rent A Center to buy him one doing payments? Or maybe just get him a more age appropriate LeapPad, those are pretty cheap and really durable.

Oh not at all, he does not throw a fit at all. He appreciates everything he gets, even if is nothing he asks for. He wants a Wii, a TV, and a whole bunch of other things but I do explain to him that right now is not the right time. He understands that about the iPad but it's a painful reminder to him when he see's his 5 and 7 yr old cousins play with their own.

I would get that but he's really into watching youtube videos. DS's hopes aren't up, since he said his dad wouldn't get it I didn't argue with him and I have just been telling him I'll get him one when I can, which I will but it won't be for now.

He got an innotab last year and wasn't very interested in it.
