pregnancy mucus plug/blood stuff?

Hi I am 40 weeks and 2 days andjustlostmymucus plug about3 days ago. Anyways when me and my hubby have sex I gottothe bathroomtogetridofthe sperm in me lol (sorry). And the last couple of times we hadsex I got sit on the toilet and about to wipe and I notice mymucus plug stuff but also it's a bit reddish the firstcouple timesI wipe. Then it goes normalthe snottygreenish/white colour. Butwhats withthe blood time stuff? Does it mean I am almost ready to have the baby? I am a first time mom. I found out 2 days ago I am 2 cm dilated and90% effaced. Please help with any moms who have experienced this or just about that it is. I haven't got any contractions yet though  

The sex could irritate your cervix, causing the spotting. But uh your discharge shouldn't be green. Have you mentioned the color to your OB before?

No I have as I just started getting it a few days ago. But I read online about a mucus plug and what not and it says thats how it should be.

Oh, but also keep in mind that a mucus plug can regenerate so don't be alarmed if you keep seeing it. If you get a big glob with blood mixed into it, then that's probably your bloody show and labor should be starting really soon.

It's.normal for the mucus plug to have a greenish or yellowish tint to them. It's also normal for it to have some blood. Plus, you just had sex and that can cause some harmless spotting.

Alright lol. Well hopefully it means its almost time! Lol. The whole.blood thing just freaked me out a bit.
