I need your help, for those mamas who are all about eating healthy how much do you spend ?
Do you plan your meals daily and whats a good way to start. Ive noticed that with these holidays I've been eating horrible
Meal planning is a great start! Sit down and plan around whats on sale and concentrate on buying fresh fruits and veggies when you can - I've found that fresh, when done right, can be cheaper than buying prepackaged veggies and stuff. Don't do things like pre packaged salads, its way cheaper to do a bag of romaine lettuce and use that for 2 - 3 meals with a salad.
I only spend $100 a month, but I'm able to barter at the farmer's market. My grandparents give us wheat and we trade it for produce. They also give us goat milk and eggs.
We probably wouldn't spend that much even if we didn't barter because our main staples are curry, lentils, chickpeas, and rice. I plan meals weekly and cook daily. We do not do leftovers. The cheapest thing is making your own food from scratch (even bread) if you have the time to do it.
