Reading the replies, I was a little confused... I went back through and I guess I missed the part where he was grabbing at the baby! Ew. I don't know what to say. My first comment still stands that he needs to leave and get sober and STAY sober... but I am feeling you about not knowing if you could forgive that... What did you end up doing?

As disgusting as that is, I didn't get the impression he was trying to be sexual with the child... he was probably so drunk he didn't realize he was grabbing at him/her. That's no excuse, I'm just saying. I don't know why you didn't get out of the bed in the first place, especially since your child was there, knowing how he behaves.

I would leave and after the incident with the child, probably never look back.

If I was you I dont think I could ever forgive him or ever get back together. What does he have to say for himself?

Right but he had been sleeping for some time so was he really still black out drunk at that point? Was he ever to begin with?

I was thinking the same thing. The guy still needs some serious help though.

Does this happen only when he is drinking?

I read an article about sleep "rape" and how the individual is completely not in control and a lot of times feels severe remorse. It cannot be changed by psychiatric help. The couple in the article ended up staying together but having separate rooms to sleep in. They still had a happy relationship but didn't sleep in the same bed ever.

I would encourage him to get real help for his drinking problem though. My uncle (and family, as a matter of fact) are severe alcoholics. My father was the only one who has gotten help and changed significantly.
