I have a 10 week old daughter . and she pulls her hair all the time and sometimes rubs her head . my fiancees mother thinks she might get headaches . but that doesnt seem like thats what it could be to me . does anyone know if this is a problem , or if she just likes grabbing hair and rubbing her head ?

She probably just discovered something new. Headaches are painful I'm sure she'd do a little more than rub her head if that were the case.

Does she seem upset when she is doing it?

Sounds like a comfort thing to me.

I think te typical response to headaches in children is head banging.

My son would do this when he was that small now at ten months he still doing it! He doesn't pull his hair but he rubs his head, even when he has food in his hands lol I don't think she has a headache, maybe she's itchy?

My daughter is 13 weeks old and she rubs her head when she is tired or falling asleep. Sometimes she'll grab her hair but she doesn't pull it. I definatly don't think it's a headache. I think its most likely a comfort thing   I think its super cute when my babygirl does it.

My daughter did the hair pulling thing too, she eventually grew out it. I think she just realized there was something on her head and wanted to get it off. I wouldn't worry unless she was doing it to the point that she was making herself cry!

I did this when I was a baby. I would get frustrated with something and that was how I expressed my anger. Also, if I was scared, like a bad dream. I grew out of it but I get reminded alot about it by my parents, they said I looked like a little cancer patient because I was almost bald

My son did this as well.. try getting a comfort item.. like a small silky blanket or a small soft blanket... maybe even one of those with the ties on the end

something like this.. once i got one for my son he started rubbing the ties between his fingers and left his hair alone.. he's 2 1/2 years old and still rubs his ties while going to bed
