I don't know if I would call it whacked out. It is a universal universal phenomenon and in some cases it happens to people who were not near death through deep meditation or in rarer cases it just happens on it's own. I accept that the existence of God will never be proven by science but at the same anyone can experience God by going within and knowing themselves as divine. Self realization is the key.

This is a discussion that is NEVER going to be solved, lol. Some will say YES, of course, while others are going to say NO WAY. The thing is, I do believe in God and in Heaven but all these people saying these kind of things and writing these kind of books.. It's not a proof. I have no idea if it's Heaven they see or if it's an illusion and there's just NO WAY of knowing. We'll have to die to see!

The brain is known to hallucinate during intense meditation. Doesn't mean God is real. In fact I am willing to bet eternity that he is not real.

I think we all experience the same god and define it with our own man made religions.

DMT is amazing and mysterious

It's absolutely the brain. I believe that through years of conditioning, we have trained our brains to "think" what the afterlife is supposed to be like. Pearly gates, angels shrouded in sunlight rays, clouds, etc. And low and behold, it seems many hallucinations or NDEs happen that way.

The brain is protecting the person from the trauma they are experiencing, IMO.

Except when it happens to very young children who have yet to be indoctrinated into what an afterlife is supposed to be like.

If you ever look into you will find that it is indeed universal. Not everyone inteprets them the same way but the experiences are the same. You are right when you say a muslim would not see Buddha. That is because the Light will project to the person based on that person's beliefs a form they are comfortable with. In truth there is no specific form of God but a form can be used if that is what the person is comfortable with. It all depends on how deep they go into the experience. There maybe be some people who might fabricate their experience but as I post previously there are also many millions who have had them and not talked about it.

It might seem like a possibility but like a lot of NDEs he experienced something that was later verified. I don't think chemicals can produce things other than illusions but some NDEs cannot be explained as chemical illusions. Such as the case of children who meet siblings on the otherside whom they were never told about as they died very young or were stillborn.

nothing was ever verified. not a single solitary thing. verification means proof. actual, perfect, complete, comprehensible proof.

Could it be that young children are just perceptive and maybe heard relatives discussing things or found things around the house?

Have you read much into DMT? There is a documentary on netflix about it....its a bit boring but there is some extremely interesting parts on it. I was really tired when I watched it and fell asleep...I need to rewatch it. The parts about our dreams and some of the theories were really cool

I doubt that. The majority of children born into religious families start out indoctrinating them from birth. And if they live in an area where a certain religion is the norm then there is no way they can escape hearing about it from an early age.
