Colonoscopy

I'm having one Wednesday morning. How terrible is the prep stuff you drink? How did you feel after it was over?

the gallon stuff .. did they give you flavor packets.. its alot better cold.. i just drank it didnt bother me.. hand a funky after taste but it wasnt horrendous

Yes the gallon. No flavor mix. They said I could mix apple juice or crystal light with it.

apple juice.. yuck.. crystal light maybe.. just drink the 8 oz every hour

I have to drink 8 oz every 15 min. Yuck!!!!

my tummy would hurt.. i havent had one done in like 2 years.. and i have to have one done as soon at noah is born

I'm really not looking forward too it at all. Hoping for good results and that I won't need another one until I'm old!

honestly they arent bad.. i think i was more freaked up the first time i had a digital exam.. why are you getting one?

When I was 36 weeks pregnant I started bleeding with my stools and they ruled hemmroids out. I don't bleed often just sometimes, and I have loose stools pretty much everyday. He said its probably IBS, but my cousin at 32 died last year of colon cancer so they just want to be safe.

ive had colon issues since i was 15.. this pregnancy ive already had a ractal abscess.. (6th one)

Oh wow! I'm sorry. I have never heard of that is it internal?

right now i have a fistula (yeah its gross trust me ) but ive had tumors on my colon.. for me its normal to not have a bowel movement for a week..

Oh my god I would die!!!! I have gone a few times without going for five days and itcwas terrible.

i feel like i am dying sometime i feel liek it backs up to my throat.. its one of the reasons i was taken off work early this pregnancy

The prep i had to do was Miralx in gatorade. I hated drinking so much, but it tasted fine.
And, of course, the hershy squirst were unpleasant, but the whole experience was slightly more than an inconvenience.
I've heard that the "old style" prep was bad so hopefully your doc has gotten with the times :-)
