Dry skin on face (around his mouth)
posted 29th Dec
Is there anything I can put on him? The skin around his mouth (right below it to be exact) is SUPER dry and red. He is getting a couple more teeth, and is drooling a ton. The dry patch is right where his paci touches his skin.
I've tried expressing breastmilk on it, but he drools right away before it gets a change to dry. I don't want to use lotion, since his hands are always right around there and going into his mouth. Any tips?

Aquaphor or they have this stick at Walgreens for chapped skin, lips, it works good! I use it when we go outside while windy in the winter, keeps my kids cheeks from getting chapped/red. It's called babyganics kissy face, it's a little bit bigger than a Chapstick tube, in the baby isle hanging up.

a little olive oil. that's what i did in the winter for my daughter when she was a baby. she would get red, dry, chapped cheeks, and i rubbed a little olive oil on them. it helped. and if she happened to get any in her mouth, it wouldn't harm her.
