baking cupcakes ?

After watching a tutorial video on youtube hubby has decided to try and make angry bird cupcakes for my sons 8th birthday!  

Anyways in the past he has had problems with the cupcake paper holders when baking in our oven. He says that the cake always sticks to the paper wrappers. He thinks its our oven that does it, I have no clue.

But does anyone know what he could be doing wrong or something he could do that would make them not stick?

He wants to make the cupcakes with no holders and I don't think that would be very cute for birthday cupcakes. I think the colored paper for each angry bird cupcake would look better. Plus we plan on buying a cupcake stand to put them all on and all.

any help would be appreciated with this  

Is he making sure to let the cupcakes completely cool before trying to take the wrappers off? I've never encountered that problem before, unless they were still warm.

Don't bake them as long.


Edit- take them out a couple mins before the recommended time, they continue cooking as they cool. If they cook too long the bottom kind of burns/sticks to the liner.

Don't bake them without liners! That has happened to me before and I bought better quatlity cupcake liners and they worked out fine.

Agreed.

It's actually the cake and moisture that makes it stick. I actually saw cupcake holders at my grocery store that are made out of parchment paper that are made to be non stick.

yeah it still happens, it happens when he makes muffins and everything

yeah I don't want him to bake them without liners either. I'm going to get him to try to find some good liners and then to not bake them as long and see if that will work

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. He is out right now buying my sons b-day presents and looking at walmart to see what they have to make the cupcakes.

I really hope they turn out. I don't like any of the angry bird cakes they have at publix or walmart and the cupcakes look so cute on line LOL

hubby found some cardboard cupcake holders at walmart so he is going to get 2 of them and we are going to paint them and try and decorate them like this lady did on etsy.


I'm sure ours won't be as good as hers but it should still come out somewhat cute. Even if we just paint the stands different colors

January 1st but we are having his party the 6th

hubby made a practice batch of the pigs today


I think they turned out pretty cute. We haven't eaten one yet so not sure if they stuck to the paper or not. But I will update later when we eat some.
