Ovulation tests..

So I thought I ovulated 8 days ago. but two days ago I got a Positive OPK, negative yesterday and again positive today.. They stay dark but so far I've only gotten the 2 positives.. This is so confusing. haha.

Could they be detecting pregnancy before the HPT picks it up??

It could be a second surge or it could be pregnancy. If it's positive because of pregnancy it will show up on an HPT. Good luck!

Okay thank you.. Must be a second surge.. HPTs aren't giving me a postive.. Well I don't see it anyways.

Depends what brand you use too, they say to only test around when you're ovulating. I was 2 weeks late on my period and I tested, and the test line was TWICE as dark as the control line. I got my period the next day. Sometimes I wonder if those things even work.

I was due to ovulate between the 18th and the 22nd.

I was told that it can double as a pregnancy test. I took a pregnancy test the day I had my period to make sure it wasn't a miscarriage or something, and it came out negative. So it was just my system being weird.

Could be a second surge, or maybe the surge was less strong and then got stronger, or maybe one of them was a faulty test. Who knows.

If you're up to it, temping/charting will take all the mystery out of OPKs for you. When I get my first positive I don't bother testing after that because I know my chart will tell me when/if I actually ovulated.

the OPK tests for a different hormone than a pregnancy test does....maybe you surged twice?

It's actually almost identical on the molecular level. OPKs pick up both LH and HCG, while HPTs are more specific to HCG. That's how they're able to use HCG to mimic an LH surge (trigger shot) for women receiving fertility treatments.

I took these today, top is FMU bottom is afternoon.. They are dry, I don't have a pic fresh.. Probably just evap lines?

Are those 10miu or 20? I use those (20miu) and have never had evaps that look like that. If it looked like that it was a BFP.

20 miu.. I HATE 10miu ones.

Yeah they're pretty awful. A friend got some nasty evaps on them not too long ago.

I didn't get evaps. they took longer to give me my positive than a FRER.

That was my experience with them. They were definitely no better than the 20miu. I call the 20s Ol' Faithful now because I have peed on literally hundreds of them   and they have never let me down.
