My son's first birthday was just family with the exception of one of my friends who had a 3 month old. We just ate/talked and did presents.

We didn't have young kids at ours- my sister and my niece were younger, like 6-8. It was fine- we all enjoyed ourselves anyway, just without all the little kiddie games.

Until 6 months ago my 3&4 year olds were the only kids in the family. Weve done at home with cake and ice cream. Weve done them at the pizza parlor and we have gone bowling. Everyone has a great time catching up.

Yes. My oldest dd on her first bday. It was a ton of my family and my friends and no other kids. lol

But with my second her first had kids their my little cousins her older sister and my friends dd.

We still had lots of fun with my oldest at her party. lol The adults enjoyed a few drinks, and good food and just chatting away. lol

at my step sons first birthday there wasn't any kids just family and some of our friends that knew him
