Ranch chicken?

posted 29th Dec
I put a few boneless skinless chicken breasts in a bowl with ranch dressing last night. How should I cook it tonight?
I'm going to make potatoes too so what do you think...mashed, baked, or roasted(like cubed on a pan in the oven with spices)?

Can you grill it? I don't know if you have one of those grill things for your stove. Either that or bake it. I'd say baked potato!

Oh man. Add some BBQ sauce and grill them. And as for the potatoes, I prefer roasted. If you are really a ranch lover, my favorite way to roast them is coating them with ranch, cheese and bacon pieces.

Pour the entire thing into a baking dish, ranch dressing and all. Heat the oven to 350 and bake for 45 minutes.

We usually do mashed potatoes or rice with it and a vegetable. I prefer corn because the flavors seem to meld perfectly. The excess ranch in the dish makes an awesome gravy for the rice or potatoes.

I always deep fry my chicken then add ranch seasoning powder on them when they are fresh out of the fryer...yummy!!!!!! and for breast i butterfly them, cut into strips, roll them in egg mixed with a little milk, roll them in my seasoned sr flour, deep fry, then season with ranch....My kids love them
I have no clue how to do what you are doing. But I will be watching to see what people say so i can try it one day. I LOVE to cook

I'd bake them covered in tinfoil for the first 45 min then remove the tinfoil to get it a little golden brown

I was thinking I shouldn't bake it because the last 2 times I've done it with Italian dressing, the dressing keeps it from cooking and instead like boils the chicken and it takes forever to cook. I will try it though, ranch is thicker than italian anyway. I'd really like to cook it in the crock pot with the chicken, ranch and potatoes but alas my crockpot is in the fridge full of ham bone soup right now lol

When I make this recipe I always marinate the chicken in ranch dressing first, and then follow the recipe. It is seriously the BEST chicken I have ever had.

The recipe is really forgiving, too. If you don't have thyme or white wine just leave it out. I always do, because I usually don't have those at home.

I would make it with roasted potatoes. Maybe if you have done dry ranch dressing mix, put that over the potatoes and make ranch-roasted potatoes?

ETA: I always just use boneless, skinless chicken breast for this, instead of a whole chicken like it calls for. Bake time and temp are the exact same.

Lol I don't have any of that stuff except the wine, butter and garlic powder and I really can't spend any money on groceries until like next week so I gotta work with what I have. This week we will be making lots of chicken because we have like 3 full chicken breasts   and an entire crockpot of ham bone soup!
Honey mustard chicken is my specialty but I caught a glimpse of someone talking about ranch chicken on here a few days ago and it's been in the back of my mind.
Cooking it in a pan with olive oil does sound good though...I'm going to have to consult with DH

That's so weird! 350 is my go to temp for a lot of dishes. I've baked Italian dressing chicken and Ranch chicken at that temp for 45 minutes and gotten the same results.

Though usually I cut the breasts in half when I cook in Italian dressing and I cube the chicken when I cook it in ranch dressing. I would think it'd be messy to cut it up now that it's been marinating.

But my son absolutely LOVES this meal. It's his favorite.

Yeah I like marinating it in Italian dressing for like 24 hours and then grilling it, I think it's soooooo much better than baking it. Maybe I just put way too much dressing in when I bake it? I also don't cut it any thinner than I get it at the store. This time we bought full breasts though and when DH cut them up last night he cut them pretty small, way smaller than the pieces you get at the grocery store so maybe it will work better

I will let you know
I think I'm going to end up cooking it on the stove in a pan with a tiny bit of olive oil just to coat the bottom because I don't get home until like 8:30pm and DSs bed time is 9:30pm so if I bake it, it'll be done like right at his bed time lol
