When can you consider a baby spoiled.

posted 29th Dec
My LO has always been a high needs baby. She constantly needs to be held and to be shown alot of attention. It just seems as the months go by she keeps getting worse.

She's a year old now.

Never. Babies don't spoil.

My daughter was exactly like that. But I know she needs to feel safe and loved. She's not trying to be manipulative or taking advantage. She just needs that right now.

Baby never. I would say a kid can be spoiled around two or three years old, but spoiled to me has nothing to do with meeting emotional needs of a child. To me spoiling is giving materialistic things in abundance, indulging in every whim, and giving in to all tantrums. Needing to be held and comforted isn't spoiling to me.

I figured as much. She's always been very high needs since she was only a couple of months old

I know everyone says you can't spoil a baby but my dd acts spoiled sometimes. I wouldn't change any thing I've done though because she's a very happy baby and has so far reached all of her milestones early. So even though sometimes. She cries because I'm not doing everything I can to entertain her, it's totally worth it. She's six months. Also she usually only acts a little spoiled when she's tired spoof maybe I'm being harsh and she's just being a baby

I say the spoiling doesn't start happening until 18 months - 2 years. My son was definitely spoiled before age two, not just the high needs baby stuff.

Same with my DD. It can get frustrating, especially when they're older babies, but it won't last forever.
