Crochet Hook or Needles?

posted 29th Dec
What do you prefer?

My guy finally remembered to give me my Christmas gifts...Crochet hooks and yarn....and a loom for making baby things.

Thinking about learning to knit too.

Ohhh and I got a computerized sewing machine....no clue how to work it

Knitting (for some reason) just makes more sense to my brain than crochet, so I voted needles.

i have no idea how to crochet and i am only slightly good at knitting (i can make scarves, lol.) i know how to sew and i have been wanting a sewing machine for, like, EVER. but i doubt i'd be able to figure out a computerized machine. i'd have to read the directions about 200 times. but your gifts sound great!

I voted crochet... I've learned both. I can do crochetand relax... when I learned to knit... the counting and dropping stitches drove me batty.

do you LIKE to crochet? everyone I know who has learned both.. loves one and hates the other. If you dont' enjoy crocheting..definitely try knitting!

Can you tell much difference if something was crocheted or knit? For some reason I always thought crochet would be more fancy....maybe its the word heh

I'm new to all this

I'm a big crocheter.

I have tried to start knitting many times, but I never get very far.

Each one has decorative stitches that can be learned, I have even seen where people can knit with crochet hooks(I haven't learned that one myself yet, though). But generally you CAN tell a difference, simply due to the way the yarn work comes together.

Yes, they tend to look different to me. But in both you can do all kinds of fancy things
