whole milk

Did you wait until your baby was exactly a year old to start them on whole milk or did u wean them a few weeks prior?
My ds will be 11 months on the 31St. I was thinking of slowly introducing milk on the first of the year. Is this too soon?

I weaned my little one 3 weeks before she turned a year old and she did fine with it.

You can start introducing a few sips here and there before one. I did.

I did it the week before with both kids.

I introduced whole milk at 10.5 months old.
My DD has 7-8 oz bottles so I just added 1 oz of whole milk and took away an ounce of formula.
I did this slowly until the day before her first birthday.
She turned one on the 26th and she's completely on whole milk no issues.

I ran out of formula the week before Christmas with my youngest LO and I started him on milk then, he will be 1yo on Jan 7th.
The other kids I think I started them right about 1 maybe a week or so early, but they were on soy so I was more leery of giving them milk

My best friend had to give her daughter whole milk at 7 months because she self weaned and refused formula. Whole milk was her only option. Obviously this isn't the best option, but she is 2 1/2 now and is fine.

thanks for the input ladies

I started a little bit at a time by mixing it in with DS's formula so he could get used to it.
