When to go to the dr or not to go

DD (4) has had a cough, runny nose/stuffy nose for about 8 days. Since yesterday morning she says her throat hurts. The cough gets pretty bad to the point she's gagging. It's also keeping her up at night. She had a low grade fever the first few days but hasn't had one after the 2nd day. So my question is when should I take her to dr or do I even take her? I'm a worry-wort mom and never know if I'm just overreacting. A little advice would be appreciated!

Id take her if its been over a week and now new symptoms..she may need an antibiotic or something if its strep... or Could just be her throats irritated. But if it were me id take her just to be sure

if she has a pretty bad cough. I would take her. Though im known to overreact but its always safe than sorry! & Usually im right and he needed antibiotics really bad. THough when my son gets sick.. its usally inevitable that we have to go cuz he always gets ear infections.. On top of it he wheezes and has to be on breathing treatments.. last winter he was on them everyday! Just take her if anything to clear your mind..

What have you tried?

Cool mist humidifier in the room at night?
Vicks on the feet or chest?

Is she bringing any mucous up with the cough? Have you tried Delsym?

Is it a cough that sounds wet? You could try an expectorant ...or if its just an annoying cough try a cough suppressent...but its important to choose the right one, don't want to give a child with a productive cough a suppressent. Take her in if it will give you peace of mind and they'll tell you what will help.

Yea that would be fine.

We went to the Urgent care. Both of my DDs have double ear infections and DD1 also has a double eye infection. :/
