Are there any online support groups? What do you do to cope with your veteran's PTSD? TIA

I dont know about online support groups. I try to give him his space and I'm there when he needs me but when we go out it can get bad too many people around him freaks him out an he refuses to take his meds. It can be difficult you just have to be there for him and help him.

Not sure of any specific online groups, but I am sure there are tons. Have you tried your military family life counselor?

DH hates to go anywhere anymore because he freaks out as well. Recently though the lying has gotten the better part of me. Buying useless things on Ebay or the internet.

First of all, *hugs*, because I know how hard it is. I am in no 'support group', but I do have a great support system of friends and family. I highly recommend the book "When War Comes Home", it is a christian-based workbook, but I think very highly of it.

We just got to the point of him being able to see the therapist with costing an arm and leg. He is on meds, but it messes with his sleep, and he has no sex drive at all.

What is he on? DH had the same problem he was on Zoloft they switch him (he had no sex drive) and gave him trazodone(sp?) and clonazepam to help him sleep. But we did all of it while he was still in the army.
Go to the VA and have him file for disability it'll take a while because he's no longer in the military (if he isnt takes 9 months if they filed while still in the military) but if he gets approved it'll cover his medication and doctor visits.
He's also on minipress for sleeping as well.

DH just got his claim back at 100%. It took over a year and a half to do. It still seems like they are dragging their feet on getting things going again. He is on zoloft and ambien (sp?)

Tell him to talk to his doctor to get his Zoloft changed. Zoloft kills your sex drive.
