What to pack,

posted 29th Dec
for the babies hospital bag?

What did you NEED?
Did you take too much of anything?

I never had the experience to use my hospital bag with my son (he was in the NICU for 15 days)

For the baby I only pack an outfit or 2. The hospital supplies everything.

They'll provide everything, the only thing we've needed was a change of clothes so they aren't stuck in those one-size fits all t-shirts and a swaddler/blanket.

I packed a bunch of smurf I didn't even use. The hospital gives you everything. I didn't even change out of the gown until I was going home. I did bring an outfit or 2 for the baby, but that's pretty much all I used from my hospital bag. Maybe some face cleaning wipes too for myself.

I had packed his diaper bag with everything I would need on a daily basis after we left. The only thing we needed was the outfit we packed for coming home. The hospital provided literally everything else we needed.

everytime they took DD to the nursery for her checkup, I cleaned off the cart, so they would restock it. This time I packed an empty tote bag to put all the extra diapers and wipes into.

Is it really stealing? When we were at the hospital the nurse mentioned that as soon as it goes into the patients room they couldn't reuse anything whether it was unopened or not. So we took the left over diapers, vasoline, thermometer, blankets...

there's a base charge for the room.. supplies included. Snatching stuff everytime baby leaves is not included in normal charges. that's ridiculous. We see it occasionally... from low class families. We roll our eyes... and start sending baby in with 1 diaper at a time. it's trashy
