First Appointment.

I will have my First real appoint with my OB, on Jan 3rd.   I am super excited, I will be 16 weeks the day after my appointment. When is the earliest they can tell the gender of the baby ?

at 16 weeks they will likely be able to determine the sex.

I'm getting my gender determined that exact day! Yay for us!!

I think 15 weeks is the earliest

I got mh 1st us at 9 weeks then I had to wait until 22 for the gender

U should be able to tell then ill be 16 weeks on the 14th and we have our gender appt that day....

I found out with a 90% certainty that the baby I am pregnant with now is a boy at 12 weeks. They won't give you the 99.9% sure until at least 16 weeks and if the baby cooperates.

I usually find out at 12 weeks too but the baby wouldn't show off the goods so we decided to schedule another one at 16 weeks lol

I got my anatomy scan at 17 weeks 6 days, & found out it was a boy (:

That must have been a very good tech. Sex organs look the same until around that time and don't finish developing until about 20 weeks.

That's why he said he wouldn't say 100% or close to it. I'm looking forward to a more conclusive answer this Thursday. 

If you want to know sooner, you can do the ring trick. I went to my 16wk ultrasound and they kept telling me I was having a boy. The ring trick told me i was having a girl. At 18 weeks they said it was a girl and that they made a mistake.

To do the trick, take your wedding ring - tie it to a string, and dangle it over your belly - if it moves in a cirlce, its a girl, if it goes back and forth its a boy. This works- if you hold the ring over your husbands hand it will go back and forth, but over yours it will go in a cirlce. My family has used this since the 50's and its always right.

I sincerely hope you are joking in thinking it's always right. 50/50 chance is always?

Gender can be determined as early as 14 weeks, but many times a doctor's office won't do it until around 20 weeks when they do the anatomy scan.
I paid $50 at 14 weeks 3 days to get some lovely 2D ultrasound pics and find out gender.

I definitly will, I am just so excited, I am hoping they will give me an ultrasound, considering i havent had one yet
