Has anyone on here had the progesterone 17-P shot before and if so....how long after your loast shot did you go into labor? I had my last shot last Friday and I was just curious!

I've never heard of this before. Is it a series of shots that are suppose to get your labor going? Is this something your doc did to try and induce you? Just wondering because I am going to be induced by the end of the month.

no, these are progesterone shots that I have been recieving since week 16 of my pregnancy. They were given to me weekly to prevent pre-term labor again...my first was born early. They are supposed to relax your uterus so it doesn't contract.
I was just curious because I heard that once the hormone starts wearing off...labor will start. I was wondering how long it took for other women who had the shot.

Okay ...I had never had that problem before so I wasn't familar with them. LOL, don't I feel stupid hehe.

it can start if it wares off.. but it also depends on how easily irratable your Uturus gets. some ladies that med will ware off adn as long as your uturus stays relax'd youll b ok. . but once it gets irratated again contractions will start back up. so its hard to tell how soon youll s tart your labor.

Excellent question!!!!! Yesterday I got my last shot and don't you know that was the first time I actually cried!!! I swear she stabbed me with the needle....she knew she hurt me bad cause I shedded a few tears!!! She said she could find a smaller needle...can you imagine....I so happy that's over! I gonna google and see what I can find out!
