Maybe she.stepped away for a few. id rather leave my infant.crying.for a little than get.overwhelmed &.frustrated.

haha apparently there are a LOT of neglectful mothers on here defending themselves. COLIC my ass. colic is not a diagnosis. It just means excessive crying. and crying that escalates because the mother doesn't attend to it right away. My pediatrician told me this when i asked. and those are the typically low income families who later get investigated by social services.

None of my kids have had colic *knock on wood* & we've never left our kids.to cry in their crib...that being said..thats bullsmurf. my niece had.colic. my sister would walk around.the house for hours trying to soothe her. nothing helped, she eventually grew out.of.it.

Yes. If you're frustrated, it's infinitely better to just walk away than it is to lose your temper with the baby.

Wow. I really have no words. My nephew had colic and I can assure you he was attended to immediately and frequently and it still didn't help. And CPS never investigated LOL.
