Do you put everyone else first?

My husband and I were talking tonight and he told me to go out and spend some money. Just...go and spend. On whatever. When I told him how I planned to buy something for our newest little one and for our son, he asked me why.

I don't know. My son and our new little one (not here yet) are the first to pop into my mind when it comes to money lol. He asked me, "When was the last time you bought something for YOU?" Honestly? I don't even know the answer to that. I think it was the $15 shirt I bought when I was at the PX because my son threw up on me while we were out...that was almost a year ago...

Am I alone in this? Do you put your family before yourself? I feel weird buying for myself. I did that even when I was in the working world...

I am the same way. If someone gives me gift money/gift cards I always end up using it on Olivia.

I'm exactly you. My best friend refuses to shop with me because I'll "shop" for thing for myself but i'll end up putting them down somewhere because I apparently need a new pair of leggings for DD so much more.....It's tough shopping for you and only you.

that's nice of your husband to think of you, and tell you to spend some money on yourself. And yes, I put my family first. If I have money, the first place I am looking is in the baby section, or for a new "surprise" for my DH.

Yep I am the same way. I love spending money on the kids and DH but not me.

I hardly ever buy for myself anymore, lol.
Went to the mall for my birthday yesterday. Spent my Christmas gift card for Kohl's on my son due in February. And bought DH a shirt at Hot Topic for 10$ shirt day. I was supposed to be spoiling myself. Whoops, lol.

Yep.I am the SAME WAY!!! All 3 of my girls get something before I do, just that way it has always been!

I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this, my husband seems to think I'm weird.

The money he wants me to spend on me is the two gift cards I got for Christmas from my family.

Nope. I know how to spend my money on myself, SO, my dd and things for my house. Everyone deserves to get stuff. DD gets enough LOL

I got tons of gift cards for Xmas... I bought groceries, dd and dh some stuff and me a $5 phone case... Apparently I shouldn't have bought groceries or the toys/movies for them with my money *shrugs* I get more joy out of buying for others

Yup I always buy for myself. But if he is specifically telling u to spend on you do it girl!!!

People dont give me gift cards to places I can buy something for the kids at anymore   lol. It is usually a VS gift card otherwise they know I will spend it on the kids.

This exactly!! My husband told me if I come home with more than $20 worth of stuff NOT for me, he's going to put me on dog poop duty for the week lol
