tips on starting sippy cups

posted 28th Dec
anyone have any tips on how to get a baby intrested in sippy cups. my daughter took to the sippy right away at 6mo old my son on the other hand wants nothing at all to do with it and is almost 8mo old. DD was completely off bottles by the age of 1 and using sippy cups. i would like to get my son off bottles around the same age at least 18 mo at the latest. no im not trying to push my children to grow up i just dont like nor do i find it good for a child to have a bottle after that age. I have tried the nuk training cup with the soft silicone (nipple like) spout, the nuby trainer cup (DD's first cup) the cheap little nuby cups from walmart and today we bought the other nuk trainer cup for 7+ mo with the hard top but soft spout. he wants nothing to do with either of them.

None of my kids wanted a thing to do with sippy cups until we ditched the bottles. All were completely off the bottle a week after their first birthday. My youngest was a week before. The NUK learner cups were what they went to.

i have the little nuk ones that are pretty much a bottle with a different nipple and has handles that come off and the nuk ones that are a normal sippy with a soft spout and handles and a stopper in it to keep it from leaking

Like this, this is what my kids took. All of my kids looked at me like I was a crazy person when I would give them a sippy lol. Then once they turned a year they went straight to these. I just threw away the bottles. Well, except my youngest, he just stopped taking the bottle all together a week before he turned 1.

Yeah that's what mine all took. But, like I said, out of all 3, none of them would take even a sip out of one until they were a year, or almost a year. I wouldn't worry right now.
