Once in a blue moon he surprises me but he's so phobic about giving gifts, mostly he just likes to take me out to pick my own things. And then use his credit card even though we share the account so that he can feel warm and fuzzy inside I guess, haha.

DH is the best! Especially because when I tell him I like smurf, he acts like he's not listening or he's just pretending to listen. And then surprises me later by getting me the exact thing I was telling him about months ago.
He got me a Diamond Candle for my birthday yesterday. Last Christmas, he got me the exact camera I wanted (I showed him ONCE, months beforehand).
And if he goes to the store, he'll bring me home foods he knows I like but don't buy myself often because I'd rather get him foods he likes.
He's just too much :3

I think I'm going to have to buy a gift for each person a month out of the whole year ahead of Christmas in order to match value. Starting January. I did budget a Christmas savings, but I wasn't prepared for this to happen this year.

Pandora bracelet and a bunch of charms between them all, AND a smurf ton of fancy perfumes and lotions and stuff. Like brand name stuff. AND they spent like at a minimum, $300 on toys of my daughter who isn't his kid.

I could see why it's awkward but that is sweet they spent so much on your daughter...some families shun the child not their blood!!   Glad you got spoiled even if it is awkward.

They love her. I am so lucky. SO's mom was basically the same as my daughter. With her mom, when her mom married, her stepdad adopted her. They think the world of her, and of SO for being a good father figure.

Well even tho it is a bit akward.....that was still very sweet of them to think of your daughter!   Don't stress over it too much....some people just have to express their love by giving expensive things....my Dad is like that....He is always spending wayyy too much money

He doesn't often, but when he does, its sweet and romantic. <3
Sometimes he comes home with flowers, sometimes its my favorite snack and sometimes he sees something he thinks I will like and buys it. I'm so spoiled by him. lol
