This will be rather short, as was my labor(thank goodness)
I came in this morning for scheduled induction at 6am. I was already 4cm, 80% effaced, and baby was station -2.
They started my pitocin and my OB came in at 6:45. She said she was scheduled for a c-section at 7:30 then would be back to break my water. They went ahead and started my fluids so that I would be ready for the epi after my water was broke since she predicted I would go fast.
OB was back at roughly 8:30, broke my water. Less than 10 mins later they were there to put in my epidural.
Was checked about 9:30, 7cm
At roughly 9:45, baby James gave us a scare any his heart rate dropped to 85-95. The nurse came in and turned off my pitocin and had me roll from side to side a couple times until finally laying on my left side got his heart rate to come back up to normal. She waited a few minutes then turned my pitocin back on.
At 10:15 I told her I was feeling some pressure, so she checked me again and told me that I was ready to push and went to call my OB.
She was there in just a couple of minutes.
James Wesley was born at 10:31 am CST. 8lbs 8oz, 20 1/2 inches long.
I had a minor 1st degree tear only b/c I had a 3rd degree with my daughter.
He looks a lot like his sister. Absolutely perfect!
