I've always heard that the boba's material is preferred over moby. I haven't personally been able to try though.
The girl at the cloth diaper store in my area said she liked the boba, then cudly was her second favorite. She didn't seem too hot on the moby, and she's been baby wearing 4 years. even wears while she's at work all day.

I haven't used a Boba wrap, but I wasn't a fan of the Moby. It was very thick and very overwhelming for me. It turned me off of wrapping until DD was one and I discovered how awesome wovens are. If I get a stretchy wrap this time (which I'm considering) I'll be getting a Gypsy Mama Bali Breeze Stretch. They're a little more expensive, but I've been told they're thinner than other stretchies, and the hybrid stretch design makes them more comfortable for heavy babies AND safe for back carries. A Moby or Boba wrap will only be really good for about 15 pounds, then it'll start to sag and not be as comfy for mama.

boba carries up to 18 months..
ETA: and the cuddlywrap is the same concept of the two and has no weight or age limit.

It will not comfortably carry up to 18 months unless your child is a peanut. Ditto the Cuddly Wrap. And no stretchy wraps other than the Gypsy Mama Hybrid Stretch and the Je Porte Mon BeBe hybrid stretch are safe for back carries and most people will not want to haul around an 18 month old on their front for long periods.

I was told that when the baby's bigger you can use them to carry on your hip.

A boba is kind of like a Ergo? I have a Ergo, its good but bulky as. I don't have a moby but I have a k'tan which is nice soft fabric. It's amazing to wear. I personally would choose a Moby over a Boba.

It'll still sag   I'm not trying to be rude at all, I'm just pretty knowledgeable about babywearing and no experienced babywearer or babywearing educator would recommend using a stretchy wrap past about 15 pounds (unless they're one of the two I mentioned that are stretch hybrids) for a comfortable, supportive carry. Lots of people love them for the tiny squish stage, but they're pretty useless after that. A better choice would be a woven wrap which would offer more support, are generally thinner and less hot, and are safe for all carries. I have a few (I think right now I'm at 6 but I'm too lazy to add it up) and I comfortably carry my 30 pound almost 2 year old in them. Another option that would be great for small babies and hip carries when they're older would be a ring sling or a wrap conversion ring sling.

There's a Boba SSC which is like an Ergo, but there's also a Boba Wrap   I think it used to be the Sleepy Wrap, but they changed the name. It's a stretchy wrap comparable to a Moby.

lol no, I'm positive you know better than I do, as I have yet to experience babywearing, I was just giving OP the information that I was given from people that have personally used the wraps she asked about since you said you haven't tried the boba, and didn't like the moby.

They're basically the same carrier for the most part ;-) I just hate when people don't know all the options available to them! Before I had my daughter everyone was like OMGMOBY and I thought it was the end all and be all of wraps. When I hated it it turned me off of wrapping for a long time and now I'm sad at all the time I spent with an Ergo instead of kick ass wovens. I was lucky to find a huge babywearing community in the area I lived in then and when we changed bases there was a babywearing group here, too!

Woven wraps are great too if you're not set on a stretchy! Didymos are generally my favorites, but there are tons to choose from like Natibaby, Oscha (although they're a little harder to come by), Ellevill, Vatanai, and Diva Milano just to name a few

I have a bona carrier for when he gets older. I just was offered both for 25/each and don't know which would be better! He would he worn for up to three hours at a time. I need nursing flexibility, ble to wear under coat, and fairly easy to manage, but they seem SO similar!!
