4 weeks PP

My LO will be 4 weeks old tomorrow & I'm curious what are the chances of getting pregnant this soon after giving birth? I've heard your very fertile at this time and that the chances are high , but I've also heard the chances are slim ?

The chances are pretty high, since your cervix is still open. That's why they say no sex for 6 weeks. Pregnancy isn't the only risk. Infection is a big one, too.

I heard chances are increased that you will get an infection.

Your not recommended to have sex until 6 weeks PP.

My doc said 6 weeks, my OB teacher said 6 weeks and so did my maternity text book. *Shrugs* To each their own, though. Most don't wait that long.

Mine told me 2 weeks or when the bleeding stops. But really...if you're gonna have sex, use protection. Chances of pregnancy are extremely high.
