Non-girly girl nurseries/stuff?

posted 28th Dec
I'm playing around on my registry...and I have hated pretty much every single bed set/room decor set for girls I've seen. Don't even get me started on the clothes either, heh. Everything is covered in butterflies, flowers...and pink smurf. I love pink, its my favorite color....but damn y'all...too much.

Anyone have/know of any cute girl bedding that isn't smothered to smurfing death in pink and purple happiness? I could go neutral but I wanna try to get something at least a little feminine...

We did pink/green elephants for M. It was not over the top girly but still "girly".

I searched for something on the less girly side and eventually just gave up and made it myself...

We did bugs. Son's mosquito net canopy over her crib which just had neutral bedding, outdoor aluminum bugs hanging on the walls and just lot and lost of colors. He walls are green, a purple mirror, mirrored stars and dragonflies on her ceiling. Its cute and feminine but not super girlie. There is no pink, lol.

I think if we have another boy were just going to do shades of blue and green...I hate all the crap for boys too! Jungle, disney, sports...laaaaame, lol.

I really wanna do music notes...or dragons

I felt same way, I had my mom make my bedding, we did animal print everything black and white, lil bit of hot pink, her room looked like a gay mans closet, I loved it lol

DD's nursery was yellow with accents in brown, blue, and red. It was butterflies, though, so still girly.

The collection was CoCaLo and not all of their stuff is super girly.

We almost did her room in black/white damask. Something like this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Seed-Sprout-Damask-Crib-Bedding-Collection-Value-Bundle/20854644. We would have done the walls in a more modern purple or pink, instead of pastels.

I wish I was creative and did something like music notes, well not that its too late as I haven't started haha! We are doing a light blue/mint and gray. I will maybe add some elephants here and there because I like them

Lol... I went to school for fashion design, every guy I met, became friends from school with had closets full of animal prints, and I never seen them wear it, which freaked me out even more, like when do u wear this stuff o.O...

Now those butterflies are nice...they aren't drowning in pink and purple cuteness, haha

For dd1 we did pastel jungle animals but her walls looked like an Easter egg. For dd2 they were sharing a rm so we did the precious planet set n walls are scenic- grass, arctic ice, desert, ocean, etc. I loved the 2nd set better. It's so bright n colorful not girly or ridiculously boy. For baby boy I wanna do monkeys but omg its super expensive sets or really crappy looking ones!

I agree. It was refreshing to find something not pink or purple. Don't get me wrong, I like girly stuff. I just don't think EVERYTHING has to be pink, purple, and/or frilly. I knew it was a win when DH even fell in love with it!

I like the color combos of yellow and gray or Plum and Aqua. very pretty, very girly, but not the typical pink pink pink.

If my son were a little girl, we were going to with Gray and Aqua. I happen to like big floral prints, but there are some really nice gender neutral crib bedding in yellow and gray. If you like geometric prints or chevron, you should find something suitable.

Our son's nursery will probably be orange and aqua. That's another option, but I have found that most of the orange and aqua girls bedding is heavy in flowers.
