Quoting Nicholas'sMommy122612:" Glad it's normal I was freaking out about it! Lol I'm just a worry wart and this is my first baby so ... [snip!] ... me to use alcohol on it though to keep it satitised and to help it dry up pretty quick hopefully it will heal up soon though"

Some doctors will tell you to use alcohol, but a lot are changing the policy on that, its just not absolutely necessary the stump often heals faster on its own.

It's still on there pretty good, but you can tell it's getting lose I think I'll just wait it out keep it doctored up and let it fall off itself. and yeah I've been doing the same thing all day I bet I've asked my Mom if it's normal for it to look bloody looking under it and if it looks ok about a thousand times today Lol

I would do that with him but our house has been a little on the chilly side so I've been having to keep him all snugged up and warm.

Everyone worries a little bit I think, I did when I had DD, it looks very wierd for sure, but as long as you dont mess with it too much it should fall off on its own and than heal. BTW my son was born with the cord wrapped around his neck 3 times and a true knot in the cord.

They do look yucky lol my daughters looked like insides were poking out lol but it wasn't. I took her to the doctor and they put silver nitrate on it to help it dry up. They did that two different times. It took hers a few weeks to completely dry up and look normal
