Early labour and so frustrated (possible TMI)

So I got my stretch and sweep yesterday and later last night lost a ton of my plug with blood and wasn't sure if it was show or from the sweep. At 5:21 I woke up with contractions about 10 minutes apart and lost a ton of mucous again with blood and couldn't fall back asleep. At 7:13 they changed to 4 minutes apart and after an hour I called my midwife and she told me to head to the hospital. When I got checked my cervix was still 2-3cms like it was at my appointment yesterday but more effaced. She said to walk around for a couple hours and she would check me again to see if anything changed. When I was checked a couple hours later nothing had changed so she sent me home. We live 45-50 minutes from the hospital and I'm still contracting every 4 minutes or so and it's soooo painful! I just lost another huge piece of my plug with blood. I'm so tired but I can't sleep. I don't know when I should go back if I have to but the midwife said "You'll know". Ugh.. I'm just so frustrated

I don't want to disappoint you, but this sounds a LOT like my labor. I was contracting hard, long, and close together and wasn't making any progress. By the time I finally let myself be admitted I was 4 cm and I had been in labor for 48 hours. I wanted to go natural, but hadn't slept in 2 days and I was exhausted. Cue the epidural =/

I went to bed for a little while to try and get some sleep. I slept a bit but it was broken from the contractions. Its hard to talk during them. I try to focus on breathing and humming because they are extremely painful. They haven't gotten any worse and at this point I almost wish my midwife would help things along. There's no way I'm going to get any good sleep tonight if this doesn't progress. I want natural so bad but if I don't get any relief I don't know if I can make it.

Have you mentioned being induced? I know it sucks and the pushing process can sometimes be longer but you're close enough to your DD that they may go ahead and take the baby. Especially being in so much pain. I'm sorry you hurt. I feel your pain and I'm only almost 37 weeks. Early labor is pretty hardcore and you won't always "know" when the right time to go to the ER is. Almost had my 2nd one at home. My contractions didn't start til I was already on my way to the ER after I thought I peed on myself (water broke). I say if you're feeling pain, go the heck in girl!

Yeah I called the midwife again and told her that I can't do this all night. She said to take a bath and take some tylenol and come back in 2 hours if the pain didn't let up. I just got out of an hour long bath and think I'll go in in an hour and if nothing has changed I might beg them to do something. I had in my birth plan that I didn't want them to artificially rupture the membranes but if they offer maybe it will help move it along?

That would definately work. I'm sorry you're in pain but it's totally worth it. And when your LO comes, you won't care what that birth plan was. You're only going to wanna hold and love that baby. So tell us what happened!  

Well after 43 long hours my baby boy arrived! I'm in the hospital just on my phone but once I'm home I'll post a full birth story.
