it's a long story. I got smurfed. I live in a small town.. his mom is the county dispatcher, knows everyone. I was bullied into agreeing to 50% custody. The custody evaluator told me if I didn't agree.. she was going to court for him and recommending HE get custody. my lawyer said my judge would always sign off on her recommendations... and I'd end up owing another 15K+ in fees just to lose.

I would go through a different court house and get a good lawyer or I would move to a different state and go to that local court house just to be a bitch. You are better than me. I got full custody of mine and they can see them when I get good and damn ready. Good luck with that hun and best wishes.

I can't move out of state.. it would be kidnapping. I can't even move more than 35 miles. Can't afford another lawyer.

awwww...damn. Sorry ma. I hope things change for the better. I guess all you can do is spoil them while they are with you. But what about school?!? It can't be good for them living in 2 homes and trying to function in school. That must be taking a toll on their grades. I would bring that up and demand only summer visits. The job of the court is to do what is in the best interest of the child. there is No Way bouncing between 2 homes is good for them through the school year.

I think it's a brilliant idea.

I didn't get too much one on one time with #2 unfortunately, because my oldest was not even 2 before he was born.

With my oldest starting school full-time and another baby on the way, I think it would be a great idea to allocate little mum dates.

i think it's a great practice. Does it ensure that each kid gets equal love and attention? No.
But, it certainly lessens the chance that one or 2 are going to feel slighted and left out.
Honestly, in bigger families, if one kid is kinda "low maintenance," he/she is at risk for getting less all the time. That may not be a bad thing in the longrun, but as a parent, i'd like to make sure i doled-out my time as best i could. some kids just need more and some need less.
I'll never know with mine as she is an only child.
