I would have told him if.he couldnt find a ride home then he can stay and work. I would not have picked him up.

Holy smurf. Okay then I think that's exactly what he needed then.

What would you have said? I tried to keep my temper, but I'm just so over his total lack of concern.

In the moment? Probably the same as you. I have a horrible temper and just vomit out words when I'm pissed. Looking at it from the outside though calling him a baby sounds like it was more to be mean rather than get a point across KWIM? When I get pissed I stop thinking about the real point and just want to hurt the other person as much as I'm hurt and angry. But it doesn't accomplish anything except a whole lot of hurt feelings. I'm sure he's not even thinking what he did was wrong now, he's just thinking about how mean you are and it's easy to justify any action in that frame of mind.

You know him better than we do.

IMO it was harsh, but that was because I didn't know he has a history of this. But I think you were absolutely in the right to tell him to take care of his responsibilities and not just take off because he's bored.

I agree but he'll get over it. Sounds like he needed to hear it, rather than her letting his dumb smurf slide over and over...everyone has their own breaking point, ya know?

I agree you did take it to far, my husband and I only have one car and he usually takes it unless I have an appointment, but if i'm going any where with someone then they come get me. If you guys are tight on money then you could have let him take the car and have your parents pick you up for your date that way it would save time and money and obviously an argument too. i would be irritated if my husband did that, but I wouldn't have taken it that far and blown things out of proportion, next time just let him know how you feel about it and just stop before you blow up on him again.

While I see your point on the him taking the car...

Except then he didn't work. So.... kinda moot.

Especially if they're tight on money, I can absolutely see why she got so angry when he took the day off because he felt like it.

It's just like I feel like he doesn't take his job seriously. He has no work ethic. He will call in sick because of a cough. I just get frustrated with it.
